my mam was a hard working person with a good heart she went through a lot of great sadness in her life most notably nursing her eldest daughter margaret for eighteen months until she died aged 30, we nearly lost her then through her grief this was 1974 but my sister left 3 daughters under the age 9 two under school age plus myself and younger brother aged14 and my father in ill health, she rose up again and brought her grandchildren up at times through hardship and exhasted with the trials of raising a second family but she learned to laugh again and many a time and could see the funny side of things, she loved a game of bingo and on a saturday afternoon a flutter on the horses, my dad and her would watch the racing on the telly i lost my mother on a cold november evening when crossing the road from the school where she was a cleaner she was struck by a car, she was 56, i was 24 the grandchildren were 10,11 and 16, im glad this site has given me a chance to praise my mam because she did not live to reap what she sowed her grandchildren are all in there forties now i am 52, rest peacefully mam love agnesxxxxxxxxxx

here we are again mam, same horrible weather as the night we lost you, i hope you are all together and its wee calebs first birthday today, im sure you know, watch over my wee grandson as only you know how, you had enough practice this side of the realm, and of course all the family too, you are so missed mam, and many a time could be doing with your guidence in all the family situations that arise, as only a mother can help, i think of you often and hope you are keeping track of us all, love and miss you mam, till we meet again, your loving daughter agnes and all the family xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

thirty years today since we lost you mam, where has the years gone, we can remember this day now bittersweetly, a new little life was born this afternoon, your greatgrandson caleb, your grandson ean s first child, watch over him mam through his life and keep him safe, you are never far from my thoughts and always missed, a loving thought a silent tear, always wishing you were here xxxxxxxxxxxx
